Remember that applying with a qualified co-signer may make you a stronger loan candidate. Be ready to provide the following when completing your application.

Qualified borrowers must meet these eligibility requirements:



  • You must be enrolled at least half-time at an eligible school.

  • You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

  • International students are eligible with a creditworthy co-signer who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

  • The student must be the legal age of majority or at least 17 years of age with a co-signer who is legal age of majority.1

  • Your permanent residence is NOT in Texas, Wisconsin, Washington, or Iowa. (There is no state restriction for co-signers.)
